What could be more perfect, after taking a few images in the city of the gorgeous Unsworth family we decided to wander down to the waterfront for a change of scenery to finish off the session. When we walked down we came across a visiting ship and were lucky enough to be able to come on board and have the remaining section of the shoot on board.
Part of what I love about this work is never really knowing how the session is going to go and learning to embrace it all..so ships ahoy we had some fun, and I think the boys were left feeling like the session wasn't that bad after all..I mean its not everyday you get to play on an old boat and then take home a jar of jelly beans and have it all documented!
So thank you guys..it was fun and boys I hope Mrs D didn't spoil your dinner with all those lollies!
I adore this family..there is a vibe I get from these guys and the energy is just fun and crazy and it makes me smile.
I had the opportunity to photograph Mum and the boys back last year.. click to view their previous session and now Dad joined us for some more craziness and I'm glad he did..
Here are a few of my favourites I hope you enjoy and if you would like a session of your beautiful family or to view my website for more details click the link..ta! www.leannedoblephotography.com
I have had the priviledge to know these guys for over seven years, and to watch our children play and dance and giggle at nothing but each other. We have celebrated birthdays and cried and prayed and enjoyed life together..so when we had to say goodbye, it was an opportunity to once again laugh and cry and wish them well as they head off into their next great adventure..
Before we said goodbye amidst all the stress and crazy busy time I wanted to capture these guys one last time wandering their favourite beach with their mad dog..to gift them with memories to hang on their wall.. to remember us all back here..to maybe prompt a visit..heheee..
Thanks for your friendship B.
I am so pleased to blog about this darling little girl. There is a quiet and gentleness that just radiates from her little being..just like her Mum. I first posted about this little girl before she was born as I had the pleasure of photographing her still in her mummy's womb and wow did Mum glow..she is stunning as you can see here .
But there is another reason this little one has my heart, she is yet to meet her daddy. As he serves his country and is surrounded by devastation he has his little girl back home..gently and quietly waiting..hopefully for only a little while longer. Until then she has love that is sent across the waters..and a daddy that is going to melt, when He meets his little girl.
I pray the days go quick, for them all.
It is wonderful to have a day to celebrate being a Mum, and choosing a special gift that shows some thought can be a challenge, however I believe most Mums would jump at the chance to have a photography session, to document the family's life and have lasting memories that will be cherished long past the special day. So if you are thinking I am right pick up that phone and book a session today.
I am so blessed to have an awesome husband and three beautiful girls. I work in a job that I love that is continually growing and prospering, and I am living a life that is full. Not that life is always easy and challenges don't come along, but when I step back in moments of frustration and view the world from a different perspective I feel peace enter into my heart and I can rest with a peace that comes from understanding that God is pouring His favour in my life, to share and breath deeply in. I don't often use this blog to share my belief in a very big and personal God but at Easter I am reminded of the gift we were given and the source of all that blessing and love that comes into my life..to enjoy..to give back..to spread. So if you are feeling the need for peace this Easter, this year, this moment, tell Papa God and remember He gave his Son for us, not for any other reason than because He loves us..no matter what..wow..unconditional love...Happy Easter friends.
For something unrelated here is a recent image of one of my girls..who needed to be blogged. Seems I haven't recently included her so for you Caitlin, with love. Mum xx
My mind wanders..no kidding says everyone who knows me right..but this week I had set myself the task of sorting through my personal photos to print. As I waded into this very large task it didn't take me long to fall into a state of reflection, as an image spoke to me of a time past, a funny moment, an image that made me smile, laugh, oor simply pause and gaze at the beauty of a memory that may have otherwise been forgotten.
Sometimes it takes distance from a moment to appreciate it..but on reflection you see past the negative and see a different view. Motherhood can be like that..don't you think? Like when you are up to your eye balls in toddler tantrums and you long for a quiet moment, so the kids ramp it up a notch more.. I remember that well. Only now when I look back at images of this time I am struck by how amazing it all was. Amazing how our brains long to remember the good...anyway I am wandering again..
One thing I am struck by though, is how little I am in any of the images of the family, which I know is quite common, particularly for Mums, who are busy documenting memories, instead of being part of them. So this year I am going to hand the camera to my husband more and be on the other side of the lens..I am going to get my family portraits taken...instead of just taking others. I am going to make the time to get them printed for me, for my wall.
Anyway I found these two images sitting waiting to be released from my computer and I thought. isn't childhood a bit like this butterfly..fragile..fleeting..it rests upon us for a while and then lifts off..This butterfly flew into our home and will soon rest on my wall being held forever..like the memories of the girls holding it.
IT was a picture perfect day in March when Grant and Jackie tied the knot. So add the cute couple to the picture and wow did I enjoy the day..I know its not about me..just stating the fun I had.
Really Guys you were a lot of fun and I hope you have an amazing life together. It was a pleasure being a part of your day and I hope the images will remind you of the wonderful day you shared with your loved ones.
THis little fella is a personality, lets face it all kids are. Here is a few of this sweet heart from a recent session. He will probably see these and smile he sure knew who was on the ipad when I showed his parents their images. It was all about him..and rightfully so at that age hey..enjoy it while you can I say :)
